Destination DC and American Express Reward Summer Visitors

American Express Cardmembers to receive a $30 statement credit when they spend at three participating merchants

(Washington, DC) – Destination DC and American Express are once again working together to offer a special Summer FREEdom Promotion that rewards American Express® Cardmembers for visiting the nation’s capital. From July 1 through July 31, 2012, American Express Cardmembers who register their eligible American Express Card and use that registered card to spend $150 total at three participating merchants can earn a $30 statement credit. The Summer FREEdom Promotion offers visitors an extra incentive to visit DC during the popular summer season.

“Summer is a wonderful time to visit Washington, DC and this year our visitors will experience several new attractions including Ford’s Theatre’s new Center for Education and Leadership,” said Elliott L. Ferguson, president & CEO of Destination DC. “Our relationship with American Express allows our visitors to see the best of the city and get rewarded for visiting the nation’s capital.”

Participants include attractions such as museums and biking tours, a who’s who of DC’s hottest restaurants and an array of hotels to fit any budget.
“American Express is proud to work with Destination DC to bring our cardmembers and merchants together to drive business to the nation’s capital,” said Joseph Quagliata, Senior Vice President and General Manager at American Express. “The Summer FREEdom Promotion is an exciting opportunity to celebrate Washington, DC and to deliver benefits to our merchants as well as to our cardmembers while they enjoy all that the city has to offer.”
